Dubai's Energy Transition, Read Through Data
How AI can balance a solar-powered grid, and why it matters for D33 and Net Zero 2050. By Chanan Zevin.
Sun to grid to AI to city: Dubai's 4,660 MW of solar today must be balanced against AI datacenters, battery storage and green hydrogen as the emirate heads for 36% clean power by 2030. Concept image (AI).
Dubai has set itself one of the clearest energy targets in the world: 36% clean power by 2030 on the path to Net Zero 2050, with the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park already at 4,660 MW and heading past 8,000 MW. The D33 agenda turns that ambition into an economic engine. The hard part now is not building more panels. It is running a desert grid where the sun peaks at noon, cooling demand peaks in the evening, and AI datacenters draw power around the clock.
That is the problem Insightful Data Technologies FZCO, led by Chanan Zevin, works on. Our ClimateTech AI engines balance the grid together with AI datacenter load, time battery storage (BESS) and green hydrogen against price and demand, and turn carbon telemetry into the verifiable data that Green Sukuk and other sustainable finance require. Our sovereign risk models read the regional markets, the DFM and ADX, and spot shifts in the economic regime early. In plain terms: more of Dubai's sun used well, fewer blackouts and wasted megawatts, and green finance that investors can trust.
The work is public and can be checked on three platforms. AIZevin Ecosystem (aizevinecosystem.com) brings our research sites and AI engines together. Zevin Insight (zevininsight.com) publishes The Zevin Intelligence Journal and its daily newsroom. Zevin Intelligence (zevinintelligence.com) is our UAE desk and the home of this edition. Together they are the public face of our Strategic Framework for Dubai, built on three pillars: sovereign risk AI, ClimateTech AI engines and global media.

News & Communications Division
Beyond our products, we run a dedicated news and communications division: the ZIN Broadcast Network, the Zevin Intelligence Journal and the Zevin Intelligence News Desk. It supports everything we build, and it can help Dubai's government bodies carry the emirate's ClimateTech progress to international audiences, in print, online and on screen.
The two broadcasts below show that division at work. The lead video covers the solar park reaching 4,660 MW. The 21-minute Dubai ClimateTech Special, our Proof-of-Production broadcast, covers the 36% clean-energy share and the work of DEWA and the Dubai Future District Fund.
Card images are AI-generated stills, not frames from the broadcasts.
Two websites carry this work every day. Zevin Intelligence is our Dubai and UAE edition and the home of this page; Zevin Insight is our premium international journal, which takes the emirate's story to readers worldwide.
Dubai's clean energy strategy and its World Energy Day messaging present clean power, innovation and the green economy as part of the emirate's economic plan, not a side project.
DEWA says the solar park produces 4,660 MW and is on course to exceed 8,000 MW by 2030. China’s solar fleet passed 1,000 GW in 2025; India and Saudi Arabia are scaling fast.
The Dubai Future District Fund earmarked up to AED 200 million (about $54 million) for ClimateTech. DEWA’s CleanTech Alliance links firms with investors.
DEWA's Sustainability and Innovation Centre runs a CleanTech Alliance for local and international companies to showcase solutions and build networks with investors.
On World Energy Day, DEWA and Masdar pointed to artificial intelligence, smart grids and energy storage as the tools for the next phase of clean power.
The Dubai Future District Fund lists PropTech, HealthTech, LogisticsTech, DeepTech, Circular Economy and Web3 as the sectors it targets, in line with Dubai's D33 agenda.
Bedayat, an incubator at The Sustainable City in Dubai, runs a staged path from ideation to investor demo days, with a Living Lab for real-world testing.
