What the alliance is
DEWA's Sustainability and Innovation Centre has launched the CleanTech Alliance initiative to help local and international companies increase their contribution to the energy transition and to net zero in the UAE and globally, according to a centre statement of 6 January 2026.
What members get
The centre says the alliance gives members a platform to showcase sustainability and clean-energy solutions while building strong networks with investors and leading innovators.
Related programmes
The same statement lists other routes for innovators. The CleanTech Connect programme has organised 50 symposiums and panel discussions attended by more than 2,500 participants. The second CleanTech Innovators Exhibition gave 30 entrepreneurs and industry professionals a platform to show their solutions. The third CleanTech Hackathon drew 193 participants from seven countries.
The practical question for founders
A showcase platform is a door, not a contract. The statement does not describe purchase commitments or pilot budgets attached to the alliance. Start-ups should arrive with a defined customer problem and a measurable result, which is the theme of today's editorial.
