The sector list
The Dubai Future District Fund (DFDF) says on its website that it invests in funds at early to growth stages across technology sectors aligned with Dubai's Economic Agenda D33. It names PropTech, HealthTech, LogisticsTech, DeepTech, Circular Economy and Web3.
Fund of funds
DFDF says it boosts venture capital by investing in local, regional and international funds and in their portfolio start-ups. Its founding shareholders are the Dubai International Financial Centre and the Dubai Future Foundation, and it is based in the DIFC.
Evergreen structure
DFDF says its fund size is AED 1 billion and that its structure is evergreen. It says this frees it from the 10-year lifespan of a typical venture fund and lets it invest across different return horizons and take a longer-term view.
The ClimateTech link
Circular economy, DeepTech and LogisticsTech are the closest matches to climate technology on the list. DFDF's earlier pledge, reported by DIFC in December 2023, set aside up to AED 200 million of the fund for climate technology.
For fund managers
Because DFDF invests mainly through funds, the most direct beneficiaries are venture managers with climate-related strategies. Founders gain access indirectly, through those managers.
